O2: Choose a green phone charger

o2green O2 has recently launched an eco-friendly phone charger that is meant to reduce the electricity consumption of charging your phone by some 70% compared to your average supplied phone charger. Featuring a more aggressive power control system that turns down the juice going to your phone when the battery is charged. That coupled with elimination of heat loss brings the green charger up to scratch for those worried about wasting electricity.

The CEO of Telefónica O2 UK, Ronan Dunne said:
"The O2 Universal Charger offers customers a simple yet effective way of reducing the environmental impact of their phones and reduces the waste associated with charger disposal."

O2 estimates that £30 million worth of electricity is wasted each year from phones left on charge in Britain.

Available in O2 stores now for £15 the universal charger comes with many different connectors to make it compatible with a wide range of phones. A small price to pay for saving both you and the planet electricity.
